A Little About Paul Taylor &
His Journey to Becoming A Counsellor
I (Paul Taylor seen here with my dog) began my working life as an electronics engineer — partly because it was what others expected, and partly because it suited my logical way of thinking and my interest in how things work. But alongside that, I was always drawn to psychology and the question of what shapes us as people.
Life changed direction and I became a stay‑at‑home parent to my autistic daughter. That time taught me the value of patience, presence, and listening — qualities that now sit at the heart of my counselling work. It also gave me the opportunity to study psychology and obtain my degree. I was fascinated by the complexity of the human mind and how experience, memory, and emotion shape who we are.
I’ve always seen us as spiritual beings, and for a while I explored ministry and studied theology. I realised fairly quickly that it wasn’t the right path for me, but it deepened my sense of the sacredness of humanity and the importance of acceptance and humility.
My Story
All of these experiences influence the way I work today as an online counsellor. I value each person I meet, offering a safe space to be seen and heard, and to bring whatever feels important. If spirituality is part of your story, we can explore that gently together; if not, we simply focus on what matters most to you.
So if you feel lost on your journey or the load you’re carrying has become too heavy, I’m here to walk alongside you for a while. You don’t have to hold everything on your own. Just contact me to begin your journey or read about how I work first.

How I Work Online
I work online, which means you can meet with me from a space that feels familiar and safe. My approach is person‑centred and relational — we focus on what matters to you, and we move at a pace that feels right. I work in a trauma‑aware way, paying attention to what feels manageable and never pushing you to go faster than you want to. If faith or spirituality is part of your life, we can include that gently and respectfully; if not, we simply focus on your story.
